Olive, the OTher Reindeer was a 1999 movie (one of 8 year old Sean’s favorites) centered around Olive, a Jack Russell Terrier, who wants to help Santa:

At one point, she even gives the Pope a Phillies hat!
…possibly explains why it was 8yo Sean’s fave
Don Quixote, the Man of La Mancha himself, had a notable tilt against a bunch of windmills in the 17th Century book Don Quixote de la Mancha. “Tilting at windmills” has taken on a new life as an idiom that means attacking invisible enemies.
